Flat Rate Traveling Technician


OPAV is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are interested in working AV in events all over the US. Ideal candidates must have general experience in Audio, Video, and Lighting. Key components of this role are outstanding customer service skills, an ability to work individually, and a desire for weekly travel.

Job Description:
The Flat Rate Traveling Technician’s main duties consist of loading in/setting up, running audio-visual during the show, and performing and inventory check and report on each weekly event. This position interacts with the client to ensure that all needs are being met during the show, therefore, great customer service presence is required.

Onsite Training:
  • Flat Rate Traveling Technicians receive onsite training for approximate two weeks before being sent onsite in the solo position
  • Ongoing trainings occur throughout the year for new equipment and updated technology.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with Account Manager during weekly check ins and on show site
  • Maintain efficiency and reliability during weekly travel/flights
  • Load in equipment for events while ensuring that the company’s standards are being met
  • Setup and troubleshoot gear on show site
  • Serve as a technician within the show, successfully operating audio, video, and lighting equipment
  • Load out gear at the conclusion of the event. . This includes proper handling and storage of the equipment.
  • Report any inventory issues and concerns
  • Ensure that the client is satisfied with the service being provided and that OPAV has been well represented at each event
Requirements:
  • 1+ years in the AV industry
  • Basic knowledge of audio, video, and lighting equipment
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience preferred
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency

Cross-Rental Account Manager

OPAV is looking for a Cross-Rental Account Manager to grow overall revenue and profit, while achieving customer satisfaction through all parts of the engagement and sales process.

Job Description:
Solicit new and repeat business through a proactive sales approach that incorporates consultative selling skills. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key personnel and clients to enhance the overall business relationships.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Solicit and secure business through a proactive, consultative approach
  • Utilize sales process and sales standards
  • Obtain definite bookings from client
  • Exercise advanced knowledge of equipment and context in utilization
  • Display and apply understanding of costs associated with cross rental sales such as logistics and set up
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of audiovisual equipment, application, and show production
  • BS/BA in associate field or 3+ years experience in the AV/Production industry
  • 2+ years of sales experience in related field
  • Ability to read and decipher financial reports and records
  • Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience preferred
  • Technical knowledge and proficiency in company wide platforms such as: Flex Rental Solutions, Vivien, VectorWork, Microsoft Office, and Google G-Suite

Account Manager

Position Overview

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key personnel and clients to enhance the overall business relationships.

Key Job Responsibilities
Solicit and secure business for OPAV through a proactive, consultative account management approach and utilize OPAV’s sales process and sales standards. Obtain definite bookings from the venue, assign opportunities, proactively contact customers, and create professional bids and proposals by actively using OPAV resources and marketing collateral. Utilize an understanding of costs associated with sales, including labor, commission and equipment outsourcing and work within established profitability guidelines.

Required Skills
BS/BA or 3+ years of equivalent experience required 2+ years sales required
Prior account management experience in audiovisual, technology, event, or hospitality experience preferred
Knowledge of sales process required in addition to the ability to read and decipher financial reports and records
Minimum of 1 year of supervision or leadership experience preferred
Technical aptitude, computer proficiency and ERP knowledge preferred. We utilize software such as:
Flex Rental Solutions, Vivien, VectorWorks, Microsoft Office, and Google G-Suite across our sales staff
Superior communication and presentation skills

Optional Experience:
Account Manager, Senior Account Manager or Sales Manager with 2-3 years experience

Specialized Technician - Video Lead

Job Description:
The responsibilities of the Specialized Technician for Video are to be the in house expert for Video. The job will be partially on site work and partially warehouse and office support. The Specialized Technician will report directly to the GM while working closely with the CEO, Sales Team, Warehouse Manager, and Staffing Manager. This position is on showsite an average of 2-3 weeks per month.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    Onsite Responsibilities
  • Operate as lead Video Technician on showsite
  • Exhibit safety strategy on site
  • Lead a Video Crew to setup packages quickly and efficiently
  • Office/Warehouse Responsibilities
  • Work with AccountManagers/Project Managers to consult on functionality
  • Develop operational strategy and training procedures for specific discipline
  • Sign off on complex creative solutions that involve video needs
  • Work with the warehouse section lead to create an organized department
  • Requirements:
    • Knowledge of Barco, Analogway, Panasonic, Blackmagic, Atomos and other major brands
    • Excellent Computer and Networking Skills
    • Able to focus on solution driven decisions
    • Able to design the video needs, layouts, and gear lists of a show
    • VectorWorks training is not mandatory but is a plus
    • In-depth knowledge of audiovisual equipment, application, and show production

Position Overview

OPAV is seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and great organizational skills. This person must also be a multi-tasker who is adaptive to a fast paced industry. This position works closely with the Warehouse Video Department Lead and reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Job Description:
The main function of the Warehouse Technician - Video is to be the main support for the department lead for the Video area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist to manage and maintain quality inventory in the video section of the warehouse
  • Coordinate and communicate with Video Lead and Warehouse Manager
  • Work with Video technicians and managers for per job needs
  • Maintain an organized work area
  • Work with in inventory software (Flex Rental Solutions) to maintain optimal inventory
  • Assist to deliver quality control checks for inventory
  • Fix damaged and out of use gear
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as needed for support of operations
Requirements:
  • Some experience in an AV/Production company warehouse is favorable but not mandatory
  • Must have a desire to learn about Video needs and gear
  • Must be familiar with AV gear
  • Flex Rental Solutions or similar inventory software knowledge is a plus
  • Must be able to work in the United States
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Forklift certification or similar warehouse credentials a plus but not mandatory
